POORNAM BOORELUU


THIS IS SOUTH INDIAN FATIVAL FOOD WE COOK THIS FOR MAHALAXMI POOJA...AND ALSO WE CALL POLIPURANM BOORELU !!!!

Poornalu ingredients
Poornam or stuffing ingredients:
2 cups chana dal
2 cups jaggery
1/4 cup shredded coconut
a pinch of cardamom powder

Batter ingredients:

1 cup rice
1/2 cup urad dhal
Oil for deep fry

Batter preparation:

Wash and soak the rice and dal for 4-6 hrs and grind this into a smooth and thick batter.
Add required quantity of salt and mix well and keep aside.



Poornam or sweet stuffing preparation:

Clean and wash the dal.
Pressure cook the dal with double the amount of water for 2 whistles.
Allow it to cool for some time and drain the excess of water and keep aside.
Then mash the cooked chana dal and keep aside.
Now heat a pan and add grated jaggery, cooked and mashed chana dal and little amount of water.
Cook on low flame till you can make balls out of them.
In-between stir well. So that they don't burn.
Finally add cardamom powder and coconut pieces and stir well.
Remove from flame and allow it to cool for some time.
Then make a small lemon size and mack a round shapwith your pam and keep a side.

Poornalu or poornam boorelu preparation:

Heat a deep pan (kadai) with oil.
Dip the above poornam balls into the batter and fry them in oil till they into golden brown colour.
Remove from flame and drain the excess of oil.
Finally your poornaalu is ready to serve.


Tip: If your doing first time best thing to do first graind dal with out water then keep tha batter in idli plate then just in presher cook for 15 min then mash it with pamm and add suger or brown suger or jaggery your wish with shredded coconut...mack arond shap and dip in to batter fry it.......
